DER DENKER

About DerDenker

Thinking with AI. Not letting AI think for you.

DerDenker is not about what AI can do. It is about what happens when we think with it.

Not another AI tech site

This is not about…

  • Model benchmarks and percentage points
  • The latest prompt trick
  • AI news for its own sake
  • Technology that only interests specialists

This is about…

  • Questions, decisions and judgments
  • Context, framing and sources
  • Disagreement and counterarguments
  • Why the same AI can give different answers

Why DerDenker?

DerDenker is a personal project driven by curiosity. I come from a technical background, but I am not an AI researcher. I look at AI from the perspective of an everyday user: how reliable is this tool when we use it to think, check and decide?

Many topics emerge from conversations, experiments and discussions — while travelling, or about politics, technology, health, money and everyday decisions. Things often get interesting when two people see the same information and still reach different conclusions.

Thinking

Question assumptions, change perspectives and examine arguments.

Understanding

Understand why AI behaves the way it does — without a computer science degree.

Experiments

Change questions, compare answers and observe what shifts.

Question the answer. And how it came about.

AI can sound very convincing. That does not necessarily make it right. I am interested not only in the result, but also in how it comes about.

  1. What context does the AI have?
  2. Which sources does it use?
  3. What assumptions does it make?
  4. What happens when the same question is phrased differently?

Agreement has to be earned. So does disagreement.

Experiments, not assertions

Part of DerDenker consists of small experiments. Not to prove something decided in advance, but to make visible what actually changes.

1

Ask a question

A specific question or scenario.

2

Change a condition

Context, perspective or wording.

3

Compare answers

Similarities and differences.

4

Examine patterns

See what can be inferred.

What happens with different user context? Does memory change an answer? Does more reasoning help? What role do sources or framing play? And when a test shows no difference, that is a result too.

What these experiments are – and what they are not

DerDenker is an independent personal project. The experiments and analyses published here are driven by curiosity and by an interest in exploring questions about AI in a practical way. They are not scientific studies, are not peer-reviewed, and do not claim academic completeness.

Where possible, methods, data, limitations and counterarguments are presented transparently. The goal is not to prove scientific theories, but to examine interesting questions in a traceable way and encourage further thinking.

How DerDenker works

Curiosity before certainty

A good starting question is more interesting than a ready-made opinion.

Show, do not just claim

Where possible, things are tested and answers compared.

Disagreement is not an end in itself

Counterarguments should test a position, not create artificial balance.

Sources, not “ChatGPT said”

If a claim can be checked, it should be checked.

How AI is used here

AI is not just the subject of the articles on this site. It is also used for research, structuring, cross-checking, discussion and sometimes drafting.

That makes transparency essential. Statements based on external sources should be traceable. Quotes from others are used only when the author and wording can be verified. And when something remains uncertain, that should be made clear.

  1. Research
  2. Structure
  3. Cross-checking
  4. Writing

A good question is often worth more than a quick answer.

DerDenker

DerDenker is an experiment.

Not with artificial intelligence. But with how we humans use it.
